Proposed resident parking schemes

The outcome of the resident parking scheme consultations undertaken in 2018/19 are available to view:

A review of the programme has been undertaken to consider changes in parking behaviours and parking demand experienced since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. There are fewer pressures on parking which gives an opportunity to re-allocate funding towards other community / safety projects such as 20mph speed limits. The resulting revised resident parking scheme programme is shown in the tables below.

The Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) process includes advertising proposals in a public notice and allowing 21 days for objections, or comments in support. If there are objections, they are presented together with any comments in support in a report considered by the Executive Member.

The Executive Member will decide whether the proposals should go ahead as advertised, amended, or not proceed at all. After this and if any issues arising have been resolved, we can seal the TRO and make any changes needed on the ground. Owing to this statutory process, it can take up to 12 months to introduce schemes once a proposal has been identified, especially if there are objections.
