Opened 30 July 1963 located behind Altrincham Crematorium. New graves are still available for burials.
There is a Children's Garden with small graves set aside for the interment of stillborn or small babies. There is also a separate Muslim section.
Funeral services can take place in the Stamford Chapel at the crematorium prior to interment.

The crematorium is signed from the A56 at Broadheath and Bowdon near junction 7 on the M56. It is approximately 3 miles from Altrincham train/tram interchange.
The bus route from the interchange is No 247 and runs every half hour taking about 20 minutes to the junction of Sinderland Lane and Whitehouse Lane. Ask the driver to notify you when you reach the stop on Sinderland Lane.
It is about 300 meters walk to the crematorium.
Cemetery regulations
Where an existing concrete raft is not in place, foundation stones must not be more than 3’ x 15". They must be level and its back must be in line with the front edge of the turf on the next row of graves.
There should be a minimum of 6" between foundations.
On new sections, headstone must not exceed 2’6" in height from ground level and should be a maximum of 3’ in width and a minimum of 3" thick.
On sections A – E, headstones must not exceed 9" in height, 2’6" in width and 12" front to back.
All memorials should be made from natural stone. Any other material should be discussed prior to ordering with the Bereavement Services Manager.
What you cannot do
You cannot interfere with the layout of the planting, graves or borders. The following are not permitted:
- kerbs
- border stones
- tiles
- slates
- raised mounds
- turf banking
- wooden erections
- trees
- shrubs
- planting
All planting should be contained in the soil at the head of the grave.
We reserve the right to remove dead flowers, wreaths etc at all times. We have the authority to remove, without notice anything placed on or round a grave which contravenes these regulations.
