CargoCycle Trafford helps local businesses make their freight delivery more sustainable by offering a subsidy for using cargo bikes. 

Businesses also receive free expert consultancy from MP Smarter Travel to help them integrate the bikes into their logistics.

The service is completely free. Businesses can choose from a range of retailers, couriers, and providers across Trafford to deliver their products safely and efficiently.

This project is funded by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) Foundational Economy Innovation Fund. 

Who is eligible

This project is open to any organisation in Trafford, including those that supply businesses in the borough. Businesses can access:

  • 50% off two months of deliveries, up to £400, for switching to a supplier or delivery service using cargo bikes
  • 50% match-funded grant towards purchasing a cargo bike (up to £2,500)
  • Free consultancy support to identify opportunities to switch to cargo bikes, find suitable providers, and get set up with a delivery service, supplier, or cargo bike
