You must report an accident within 72 hours if a licensed vehicle is damaged, and that damage affects:
- its safety
- its performance
- its appearance
- the comfort of passengers
Failure to notify will result in penalty points being issued.

Use the accident notification form to report the accident
You must provide:
- up to 5 photos of each side of the vehicle, plus additional images of the damage
- an accident sketch showing where the damage is located (this must be completed before submitting the form)

After repairs
Once the repairs are complete, you must submit the following documents using the accident suspension lift form:
- Engineer’s report completed by a registered member of the Institute of Automotive Engineer Assessors
- new compliance test certificate - Book an appointment on the KAR automotive website
- invoice for repairs
