Would you like to make a real difference to the lives of disabled children and their families in Trafford?
Our Home from Home scheme matches children with carers who welcome them into their home or spend time with them in the community. Children visit the same carer regularly, so they can build relationships and feel at home.
What Home from Home carers do
Carers support children aged 0 to 18 who have autism, learning disabilities or physical disabilities. The role is about:
- spending time with a child in your home or out in the community
- helping them try new activities and gain independence
- giving parents a short break or time with their other children
Types of carers
There are two ways to get involved:
- volunteer foster carers
- self-employed multi-link contracted foster carers
Who can be a carer
We welcome carers from all backgrounds. You may be single, with a partner, working, retired or unemployed. What matters most is energy, commitment and the wish to support a disabled child.
