You are paid to cover the day to day costs of care. Carers receive a weekly allowance plus a skills payment. The amount depends on the child’s age, your level and the type of fostering. We can talk you through what this could look like for you.

What the allowance covers
- Food, clothing and day to day costs
- Transport for school, family time and activities
- A contribution to household bills and hobbies

- Rates are reviewed each April
- We usually pay fortnightly
- Your total depends on the child’s age, your level and the type of fostering
