If you have been in care in Trafford, you can get support to help you move into adulthood. This is called the Local Offer for Care Leavers.
Who can get support
You can get support if you are aged 16 to 25 and have been looked after by Trafford.

Housing and accommodation
- Help to find somewhere to live
- Advice on tenancy and housing rights
- Supported accommodation if you need extra help
Money and finances
- A setting-up-home allowance to help you move into your own place
- Advice about benefits and budgeting
- Bursaries for education and training
Education, training and jobs
- Help to stay in school, college or university
- Support with work experience, apprenticeships and finding a job
Health and wellbeing
- Support with emotional and mental health
- Advice on healthy living
- Access to health services
Relationships and identity
- Support to keep in touch with family and friends
- Help to build new relationships and networks
- Advice about identity, culture and community
Independence skills
- Practical advice on things like cooking, paying bills and travelling independently
Your personal adviser
You will have a personal adviser up to age 25. They will:
- Be your main point of contact
- Help you make a plan
- Link you to services and opportunities
