The Council may confer the title of Honorary Alderman or Alderwoman of the Borough on a past councillor who, in the Council’s opinion, has given eminent service.
The award does not carry legal rights or responsibilities. Honorary Aldermen and Alderwomen support the Mayor and are invited to civic ceremonies.
