We are carrying out a full review of our Council Tax single person discounts. In Trafford, there are currently around 34,000 Council Tax payers that are receiving a 25% single person discount.

We review the discounts to make sure our records are up to date and only those eligible are getting the discount.

How we will contact you

We will contact you by either letter or email.

What you need to do

You need to tell us about your current circumstances so we can update our records. The information you will need to provide is on the letter or email we sent you.

Before you start the review you will need your:

  • Unique PIN number
  • Council Tax account number (normally starts with a 4)
  • Post code

What happens next

We will review the information provided and update our records if needed. 

If you are no longer entitled to the discount, we will remove this from your account and a new bill will be sent to you.
