If you don't complete these requirements, we may refuse to treat the premises and you will not be refunded.
Fleas
- De-louse all household animals, taking advice from your vet about the best products to use for your pets.
- Vacuum the premises, paying attention to floors and upholstered furniture. This will help remove animal hair, organic debris, eggs, larvae, pupae, and adult fleas. Vacuuming can also trigger adults to emerge from their dormant pupal stage.
- You should also vacuum:

cracks and crevices in floors and along walls (wall-floor junctions) - Dispose of the contents of the vacuum cleaner securely and into an outside waste bin to minimise the risk of transferring fleas throughout the property.
- Ensure access to the floor. The whole floor area needs to be treated, so make sure to remove any items that would cause an obstruction.
- Move furniture away from walls to allow access to skirting boards.
- Sweep and wash uncarpeted floors.
- Dispose of or wash pet bedding. Washing should be in hot, soapy water. Drying should be done in a tumble dryer on hot until completely dry.
Bedbugs
Treatment for bedbugs will require two visits that are one month apart.
The customer must not clean up between visits.
- Remove all items from the floor and place them in plastic bags.
- Remove all articles from under the bed, cupboards, and furniture, and place them in plastic bags. Do not transfer any items to another room, as this can spread the problem.
- Vacuum all floors and soft furnishings, emptying the vacuum cleaner outside.
- Remove all bedding from the mattress and place it in plastic bags.
- Take off the mattress and stand it upright against the wall.
- Put clothes and bedding in the tumble dryer for at least 20 minutes to kill any bedbugs.
