Residents are being invited to give their views on a multi-million pound project to redevelop Partington Sports Village.
A number of engagement sessions with the local community have been organised regarding the £18.3m Levelling-Up improvements at the leisure centre and Cross Lane park.
The ambitious plans for Partington Sports Village include upgrading Partington Leisure centre with a full multi-million pound refurbishment, improving the BMX track and associated facilities, fully renovating Cross Lane Park changing rooms and building a path around the park to improve access and support walking and running in the area.
The redevelopment programme was approved by the Executive in March 2023, following the successful award of the Levelling Up Fund in January, and aligns with two of the three Council priorities - to reduce health inequalities and addressing our climate crisis in the borough. The investment will safeguard the future of vital leisure facilities in Partington and help deliver huge health and wellbeing benefits to residents through the Council’s Sport and Physical Activity strategy, Trafford Moving.
Cllr Cath Hynes, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Leisure, Arts, Culture and Heritage, said:
“Trafford Council is totally committed to the health and wellbeing of all residents and we are proud to share our plans for Partington Sports Village and Cross Lane Park with the community. Millions of pounds worth of Levelling-Up funding is being invested into the Partington area to help deliver huge benefits.
“I would encourage as many local residents as possible to attend the engagement sessions so we can share with you our exciting plans for the future.”
