Cadet who took part in King's procession awarded another top honour

Caring teenager Madison Grace – Trafford and Greater Manchester’s first ever Mayor’s Cadet of the Year ­– has been awarded another major honour.

The popular teenager, a Cadet Corporal in the Royal Marine Cadets in Altrincham, has been awarded the prestigious King’s Coronation Medal.

Madison was given the medal after being selected to take part in the King’s Coronation and King’s procession march - from an amazing 40,000 cadets nationwide. She was given the medal in a service attended by the Mayor of Trafford, Councillor Dolores O'Sullivan, and Armed Forces Lead for Trafford, Sue Wight.

Her detachment Commander, Sergeant Stuart Hurlston, said he was extremely proud. He said: “Madison is a very special Cadet without question and has an extremely bright future ahead of her. To be awarded the King’s Coronation Medal is an unbelievable achievement and is something that dreams are made of. Madison has done an amazing job as the First Mayor’s Cadet of the year for Trafford, has advanced to the rank of Cadet Cpl, and is going for the promotion of Cadet Sergeant.”

The Mayor said: 

“Madison has been superb serving as my Cadet this year - she is an amazing young woman. She is a hardworking, dedicated and talented and I wish her every success for the future.”

Madison’s next official engagement is going to Normandy to attend the 80th Anniversary of D-Day.
