Now, the council is hosting an engagement event to check in with local residents and users of the Sports Barn, to help explain the plans for the facility in the future.
Join representatives from Trafford Council on Wednesday 7 August from 6pm – 8pm at Old Trafford Sports Barn, to chat about how the leisure facility could be improved, highlight any issues which are continuing to arise, and learn about future plans for the centre.
Trafford Council is keen to involve residents and stakeholders as much as possible in the decision-making process about the future of Old Trafford Sports Barn. The engagement event on 7 August will set out a timeline of future engagement opportunities, allowing for as much community consultation as possible as they try to deliver a solution which works for everyone around the future of the facility.
Councillor Cath Hynes, Executive Member for Leisure, Arts, Culture and Heritage at Trafford Council commented:
“We recognise that it has been a while since the community has been updated regarding the future of this facility, which we know is very important to many people living in the Old Trafford area. This is a chance for anyone who uses or has an interest in Old Trafford Sports Barn to come together and hear directly from the council about our plans for the future of the leisure centre.
“It’s also a great opportunity to share your thoughts and update us on the issues which might be barriers to using the facility. We want to develop any future plans in close consultation with the community, so don’t miss your chance to tell us what’s working well and how you would like your facilities to be improved!”
There is no need to book your place, just drop in to the Sports Barn on 7 August to join in the event.
