Have your say on Trafford's future, communities are urged

Residents, businesses and communities are being urged to not miss out on having their say on the future direction of Trafford Council.

The Council’s Corporate Plan sets out what its priorities are, and people living and working in the borough and who use its sporting and culture attractions are being asked to give their views.

The current plan ends soon and another one – for 2024-27 – has now been developed which includes two additional priorities, taking the total to five.

Cllr Tom Ross, Leader of Trafford Council, said:

“Our corporate priorities need to reflect the changing world we are operating in with increasing pressure on our budget and increased need for our services.

“They form part of our corporate plan which is our map showing us where we want to go and how to get there. Our residents deserve the best we can possibly be and the corporate plan sets out how we will achieve this aim.

“What we want to make sure is that we are heading in the direction our residents want us to take and that’s why we want as many people as possible to fill in the survey and have their say.”

The draft corporate plan proposes five new priorities for the Council with statements underneath each priority emphasising how the Council will achieve them. The proposed priorities are:

  • The best start for our children and young people
  • Healthy and independent lives for everyone
  • A thriving economy and homes for all
  • Address the climate crisis
  • Culture, sport and heritage for everyone.
