In Trafford, we’re proud of our beautiful green spaces which are a real asset to the community in our borough.
National Love Parks Week runs from Friday 26 July – Sunday 4 August, and it’s the perfect opportunity to show your local park some love.
The council, working with Amey as part of the One Trafford Partnership, is organising special litter-picking events in parks across the borough, to celebrate this week and help keep our green spaces tidy and ready to be enjoyed by all members of the community. If you can spare an hour of your time, come along and help us clean up the parks while getting some fresh air and meeting new people in your area too.
The planned litter picks are as follows:
Monday 29 July – Longford Park, Stretford – 11am – 12pm
Tuesday 30 July – Oak Road Playing Fields, Partington – 11.30am – 12.30pm
Tuesday 30 July – Pickering Lodge Park, Timperley – 1pm – 2pm
Wednesday 31 July – Merlin’s Park, Old Trafford – 11am – 12pm
Wednesday 31 July – Dainwell Park, Sale – 11am – 12pm
Thursday 1 August – Woodstock Park, Broadheath – 11am – 12pm
Friday 2 August – Moss Park, Stretford – 11am – 12pm
Bring the whole family and come along to help keep your local park looking great! We’ll provide the equipment including bags and litter pickers, all you need to do is come down to one of the events to get involved.
Cllr Stephen Adshead, Executive Member for Highways, Environmental and Traded Services at Trafford Council, commented:
“Love Parks Week is the perfect time to celebrate our local green spaces, and hopefully we will have some sunny weather so we can all get out and enjoy our parks. Our teams work really hard alongside our Friends of Parks groups to maintain our parks and keep them looking good all year round. If you can spare a little time, please do come out and get involved with our litter picking events this Love Parks Week.”
