Trafford Council's Pest Control team go green

Addressing the climate crisis is a key corporate priority for Trafford Council, and new ways to make its operations more sustainable are being embraced by teams across the local authority.

The council’s Pest Control team have taken a big step towards improving the sustainability of its operations, as all vans have now been switched to electric for the fleet.

The Pest Control team, which deals with both domestic and commercial pest control issues across the borough, have upgraded their fleet to electric vans with new branding to promote the service. It means the CO2 emissions produced by the team will be dramatically reduced, helping to cut the council’s overall emissions and ultimately contributing towards the journey to net zero.

Councillor Rose Thompson, Executive Member for Communities and Safety at Trafford Council, commented:

“This is great news for the council as we journey towards our target of net zero emissions. The Pest Control team do a vital job in keeping populations of common pests under control, for both our residents and businesses. Now they can continue to provide this service in a more environmentally friendly way, which is just another reason to choose your local authority when looking for a trustworthy pest control service.”
