Trafford Live a huge success as hundreds enjoy family fun on offer

Hundreds of residents had a day to remember at the borough’s biggest family event of the summer.

Trafford Council and Lancashire Cricket Club teamed up to deliver the popular Trafford Live event on Sunday 7 July.

The joint festival was held within the grounds of the Town Hall on Talbot Road and the Fan Village at Emirates Old Trafford and was open for all to attend. Visitors experienced a range of events, activities and displays which were all designed to showcase the borough’s sports, history and culture offering.

There were a number of different zones for families to enjoy including the armed forces zone, the stall zone, the children's activity zone, the entertainment zone and the sports zone. Performers included Breathchamps, the Sing space musical theatre choir, Social Lites WI choir, Dance Gen and Manchester Marathi Mandal.

This year’s free event was a special family-friendly festival, with Trafford celebrating its 50th birthday as a metropolitan borough and Lancashire Cricket incorporating the Vitality Blast fixture against Worcestershire Rapids. And Lancs won off the second last ball with a six to complete a great day for everyone.

Trafford Mayor, Cllr Amy Whyte, said:

“This year’s Trafford Live was – as always – a fantastic event and I was delighted to see that hundreds of residents turned up to enjoy the fun. The weather held for us for most of the day and everyone had a fabulous time. Thank you to everyone who helped organise the event – it was a huge success.”
