Council wants residents to have their say on plan

Trafford Council is inviting businesses and residents to have their say on the draft Trafford Local Plan.

The Plan puts forward proposed sites for housing, employment, development and open space designations which will shape the future of the borough and help to meet identified needs up to 2042.

The north of the borough will be a particular focus for development, with proposed allocations at Wharfside, Pomona and Trafford Waters.

This consultation follows on from a previous consultation on the Local Plan vision, strategic objectives and policies which was held in Spring 2025. The consultation starts on Monday, 22 September and will run until 11:59pm on 3 November 2025, and views are sought on the proposed housing and employment allocations and open space designations.

The consultation documents are available to view and comment online and at libraries across the borough.

A series of drop-in sessions are being held where officers of the Local Plan team will be available to answer questions.
