Christmas crafts, creative writing and chair yoga are just some of the highlights going on at Altrincham library this month.
The community hub on Pott Street has activities for all ages in December, with Christmas fun as well as the usual events.
Cllr Eve Parker, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Leisure, Arts, Culture and Heritage, said:
“As a mother of three, I know how important libraries are and the joy books bring to children.
“While libraries are fantastic places to borrow books, there's lots more on offer. They are warm places for vulnerable families struggling to heat their home. They are community places where groups can meet around shared interests. They are social places where people can come together and chat, listen and learn.
“There is something for everyone on at Altrincham Library this month and I urge all our residents to check out what is going on."
Christmas crafts take place throughout the month, with each week having its own theme.
Chair yoga, which takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays, is suited to those who are less mobile or steady on their feet than they used to be but want to keep active. There is also a knitting club on each Tuesday morning from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
For young people aged 7-11 who enjoy reading and drawing, the library hosts Chatterbooks on Monday 15 December. There is also Lego Club every Saturday from 10am to midday.
For writers, there are three events. A creative writing class – Sit Down and Write – takes place on Saturday 6 and Saturday 20 December. There is also a writing group on Wednesday 17 December.
Meanwhile, author Sophie Claire will be kicking the month off on Wednesday 3 December from 6pm with a talk about her latest novel, Christmas at the French Repair Shop.
