Trafford Council’s Planning and Development Service is consulting on the draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD 8) List of Local Heritage Assets (Local List).

On 16 March, the Council’s Executive approved the content of the List of Local Heritage Assets in the Borough following consultation with the public in 2025.

The Council would now like to receive people's views on the Draft SPD. The Draft SPD sets out how local heritage assets will be nominated and assessed for inclusion or removal from the Local List.

A stakeholder consultation has now started on the draft SPD until Tuesday 5 May 2026.

Cllr Liz Patel, Trafford Council's Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration, said:

"This is a very important document which provides information on how our planning policies should be interpreted and implemented regarding the Local List.

“When making a decision on a planning application, an SPD is taken into account as an important consideration. We want as many people as possible to take part in this consultation which is an important step in how we protect and manage our heritage assets."

If you do not wish to complete the survey, but would like to provide comments on the draft SPD, please email Local.List@trafford.gov.uk.
