Council wants your views on heritage document before deadline

A consultation on a document which sets out how Trafford Council identifies places and assets of heritage interest to be protected under the List of Local Heritage Assets, is due to finish next week.

Residents are being asked to give their views before the consultation ends on Tuesday, 5 May, 2026.

Following a public consultation in 2025, the List of Local Heritage Assets in the borough was determined in March 2026. The Council would now like people's views on the Draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) only. This sets out how local heritage assets will be nominated and assessed for inclusion or removal from the Local List.

The consultation, which was launched in March 2026, can be completed online.

A spokesperson for Trafford Council said:

"This is a very important document which provides information on how our planning policies should be interpreted and implemented regarding the Local List. We want as many people as possible to take part in this consultation before it ends as it is an important step in how we protect and manage our heritage assets."

If you do not wish to complete the survey online, but would like to provide comments on the draft SPD, any comments can be sent to Local.List@trafford.gov.uk.
