Finding out what’s happening across Trafford has just got a whole lot easier.

In partnership with event organisers, activity leaders and creative partners, Trafford Council has launched Trafford Is - www.trafford.is - a brand-new website designed to showcase the best of Trafford’s culture, leisure and community events.

Whether you’re looking for world-class entertainment or local neighbourhood gatherings, Trafford Is aims to be the heartbeat of the borough, bringing culture, creativity and connection together in one place.

The site will act as an invaluable hub for planning days out, uncovering hidden gems, exploring green spaces and connecting with the places and stories that make the borough so special.

The summer launch comes at the perfect time to inspire days out and boost visitor numbers over the school holidays.

Visitors and residents can explore events from internationally renowned destinations such as Emirates Old Trafford and the Imperial War Museum North, alongside community favourites like Stretford Public Hall.

Powered by the Manchester-based listings engine CultureHosts, Trafford Is offers intuitive tools that allow users to:

  • Search for events and activities tailored to their interests
  • Plan days out and joined-up visits
  • Discover hidden gems and free-to-visit venues and activities.

The platform’s bold visual identity was created by Studio DBD, the independent design studio led by Trafford-based creative Dave Sedgwick, with feature photography captured by fellow Trafford creative, Steve Longbottom.

Six people, including the comedy group "Mr. Thing," pose together in a brightly lit theatre. They are dressed in vibrant colours. In the centre, they hold the same large "Trafford Is" arrow sign. A sign in the background reads "APPLAUSE".

Cllr Eve Parker, Executive Member for Leisure, Arts, Culture and Heritage at Trafford Council, said:

"Trafford has a wealth of great, cultural things to do and places to visit but people have told us they don't always know what is happening and where. Trafford Is aims to connect community members and visitors with all the fun and enriching things going on, so that people and families can make the most of what our borough has to offer.

"The website's launch is an exciting moment for celebrating our borough’s cultural strengths, supporting local talent and making culture accessible to all.

“I am delighted to see more than 100 Trafford organisations have already signed up to CultureHosts, the listings engine that powers Trafford Is. I want to extend my sincere thanks to all our cultural and community venues who have supported the project and submitted their events ahead of launch.”

Organisations and venues in Trafford can list their events on Trafford Is for free.

The launch of Trafford Is supports the Trafford Cultural Strategy and the Council’s corporate priority to promote culture, sport and heritage for everyone. The platform aims to boost awareness of the borough as a vibrant visitor destination, supporting local talent and businesses, and removing barriers to cultural participation.
