The Trafford Council-run treasure trove has a series of events on every week to suit people of all ages.
Cllr Eve Parker, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Leisure, Arts, Culture and Heritage, said:
“Our libraries are a hive of activity. It’s great to see them used by the community because they’re a great space where people can meet up.
“If you are looking to take up a new hobby or join like-minded people, there is something for everyone!”
For people looking into arts and crafts, the library hosts groups for knitting, beading, crochet and jewellery. There is also an arts group that meets on Tuesdays.
Yoga takes place on Mondays and Wednesday for people wanting to get fitter for 2026.
For people into games, there is a Scrabble club, card game club and Lego club that meets every week. Parents of pre-school children can take their toddlers along to play sessions, rhyme times or story times.
The library also offers advice sessions for residents, including a Wednesday session on. There is a Citizens Advice drop-in session on Fridays, while Age UK offers advice on how to use the NHS App.
Meanwhile, the nearby Woodsend Library also offers crafts and children’s events. There is also a meeting of the Local History group on the first Tuesday of each month.
Cllr Parker said:
"A library should be at the heart of the community and I’m proud to see our libraries living up to that ideal. I’m looking forward to see more people than ever using our libraries in 2026, whether that’s to take up new hobbies, enjoy reading books or joining a club and making new friends."
