Building Control approval with full plans
If you have had building control plans drawn up by an architect and want to have them checked and approved before the work starts, we recommend you apply using the Full Plans form.
With this form you will need to submit the following, preferably well in advance of when work is to start on site:
- Existing and proposed building control plans and other information showing all construction details
- Structural calculations
We will check your plans and consult any appropriate authorities.
If your plans comply with the building regulations you will receive a notice stating that they have been approved.
If we aren’t satisfied we may ask you to make amendments or provide more details. Alternatively, a conditional approval may be issued. This will either specify
- changes which must be made to the plans
- further plans which must be sent to us
If your plans are rejected the reasons will be stated in the notice.
A full plans approval notice is valid for three years from the date of deposit of the plans.
