Timetable and project team

The Strategic Planning and Growth team at Trafford Council will lead on the preparation of the Masterplan and have appointed a consultant team of specialists (Deloitte and WSP) to assist with the technical aspects of the Masterplan.

The New Carrington Masterplan: Delivery Strategy, a Client Brief was prepared and issued for the tender process of this piece of work.

Preparation of the Masterplan began in early 2024, and work on the Delivery Strategy (the first stage of a detailed Masterplan for New Carrington) is progressing. 

Key documents supporting the Masterplan (Baseline and Options Report, and Ground Investigations Stage 1 Report) have been finalised and are available to view on the Existing supporting information page.

Work will continue throughout 2025 on the Masterplan, including the Spatial Strategy (second stage).

A consultation on the draft comprehensive Masterplan is programmed to take place in early 2026 with adoption anticipated in the summer.
