We are responsible for the maintenance of the adopted highway in Trafford. We are not responsible for the maintenance of private streets.
Our highway inspectors inspect Trafford’s roads and pavements regularly to ensure that any potholes or defects are repaired. However, sometimes potholes can form in time periods between these inspections taking place.
You can report a pothole if it meets the intervention levels set out in our highways policy:
- 40mm deep or over on a road
- 20mm deep if on a pavement / footway or at a crossing point
Reports will be assessed and any issue that does not meet our intervention level may not be actioned.
Examples
