Trafford Shop Improvement Grant

Funded by UK Government, GMCA, Powered by levelling up logosThe Trafford Town Centre Shop Improvement Grant Scheme is a £150,000 fund to support new and existing retail and hospitality business in Trafford’s town centres.

Funded from the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the grant is open to new and existing business to support the improvement of ground floor retail properties in one of Trafford’s four town centres.

The scheme is a capital grant fund that can provide a one-off grant of up to £10,000 to support up to 50% of the refurbishment costs of town centre retail premises in Altrincham, Sale, Stretford, and Urmston.

The grant can be used toward the cost of building and renovation works, as well as investments that will reduce the carbon footprint of the property or improve the customer experience for people with accessibility issues.

Further information about the scheme, along with details on how to apply, can be found on the government’s Find a grant website.

The scheme is open to applications and is due to close to applications on 30 September or when all funding is awarded, whichever is sooner.

This is a competitive grant scheme, and all successful applicants will be required to complete work no later than the end of February 2025.
