You must only complete this part of the process if you have received confirmation that you have passed the knowledge test and induction course.
To submit your application, you must:
- be at least 21 years old
- have held a full driving licence issued in the UK, European Community (EC) or European Economic Area (EEA) for at least 12 months
- upload the relevant documentation
- pay the application fee
Documents you must provide
Our documentation guidance for licensing provides extra information on what we will or will not accept when applying for a licence.
You must upload or provide the following:
- passport style photograph
- statutory declaration, completed and stamped by a solicitor (see our Statutory Declaration form)
- DVLA driving licence photocard
- DVLA check code
- tax check code (from HMRC)
- right to work document (for example UK or EU passport, national identity card, or UK birth certificate)
- right to work check code Check a job applicant's right to work: use their share code - GOV.UK - if applicable
- enhanced DBS certificate.
- poof of national insurance number
- english language certificate equivalent to an ESOL Level 3
- proof of current address (utility bill or bank statement less than 3 months old)
- Group 2 medical dated within 4 months
If you cannot provide all required documents and payment in full, your application will be placed on hold until those documents can be provided.

You must make your payment before submitting your application by following these steps :
- Go to our Payments Portal
- Click Private Hire Driver or Hackney Carriage Driver
- Use your Trafford reference number as payment reference
- Make payment
Apply for a licence
Once you have the relevant documents and have made your payment, you can apply for a licence.
