Transfer a taxi vehicle licence

You can apply to transfer a hackney carriage or private hire vehicle licence (vehicle plate).

    Make sure your vehicle meets our age, emissions and licensing policy requirements.

  2. Prepare your documents

    Gather the documents you need, including compliance and ownership records.

  3. Pay the fee

    Pay £63 and keep your receipt reference to use in your application form.

  4. Submit your application

    Complete the online vehicle transfer form and include your payment reference.

  5. Decision and grant

    We will review your application and tell you if you can collect your plate and licence.
