Safeguarding responsibilities

All childcare providers must have policies and procedures in place to safeguard children.

You must:

• Have a DSL (designated safeguarding lead) in post
• Ensure all staff complete safeguarding training
• Follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) safeguarding requirements
• Know how to respond to concerns about a child’s welfare
• Follow the descriptors in the Early Years Inspection Toolkit
