Protected characteristics and discrimination

When making any decisions in relation to its policies or formulating corporate plans, the Council recognises that care-experienced young people are a vulnerable group who face discrimination. 

This means that now and in the future, being cared for or care experienced is recognised as a ‘protected characteristic’.

As part of our support, we may be able to offer you work experience, training, and employment opportunities within Trafford Council or more widely across partner agencies. Ask your aftercare worker for more information.
