Fly-tipping on public land
Part of:
Fly-tipping
We are responsible for looking after public land to make sure it is clean for everyone to enjoy. This includes roads, parks, and town centres.
Report fly-tipping on public land
If you see somebody fly tipping, make note of:
- the day, date, and time you saw the tipping
- how many people were fly-tipping and what they looked like
- any vehicles involved (make, colour, and registration number)
- what was tipped and how much
What happens after you report
After you report fly-tipping, we will inform our Environmental Improvement Team, who will look for evidence of who the fly-tipped waste belongs to.
We will remove fly-tipped waste within 15 working days of it being reported.
If the waste is hazardous or a dangerous obstruction, we will make it safe or remove it within 24 hours. Hazardous waste includes asbestos, chemical or oil drums, gas canisters, paint, and needles or drug paraphernalia.
