Adopt a tree
We offer residents the opportunity to adopt their own street tree on the pavement outside their house or in their local park.
The tree adoption process is open between 1 April and 1 October each year. Residents can adopt one tree per year.
The charge for adopting a tree is between £70 to £90, excluding VAT. The price varies according to the species of tree.
How to adopt a tree
You can apply to adopt a tree online.
After we receive your form, a member of our Tree Unit will contact you to schedule a site inspection. We will then discuss the planting details, including costs and the date of planting.
If you have requested to adopt a tree in one of our parks, a member of the team will be in touch with the next steps.
Aftercare
Our experienced Tree Management Unit will plant and care for your trees. We use heavy standards, which are about three metres tall when planted and quickly grow to an impressive size.
Trees are supplied in 65 to 120 litre pots and come with protective guards and stakes to ensure they are stable and safe until their root system is established. We will register all adopted street trees in our database and take full responsibility for their upkeep and future management.
