The Trafford Bond Scheme (TBS) offers financial help to residents looking for private rented housing. TBS provides a paper or cash bond directly to the landlord to cover the deposit.

To apply for the TBS, email HOST@trafford.gov.uk or call 0161 912 2230. You should only apply if you meet all the following criteria:

  • Are aged 18 or over
  • Have lived in Trafford for at least 6 months
  • Are homeless or threatened with homelessness
  • Earn a low income and/or be on benefits
  • Have never caused any anti-social behaviour
  • Are not intentionally homeless
  • Do not owe money to us or previous Bond Schemes
  • Have found an affordable private rented property with a landlord who will accept TBS
