Carers Rights Day 2025 - if you care, be there

Trafford Council is proud to support Carers Rights Day 2025, taking place on Thursday 20 November at Stretford Public Hall.

Trafford Council is proud to support Carers Rights Day 2025, taking place on Thursday 20 November at Stretford Public Hall.

Organised by Trafford Carers Centre, the event runs from 12pm to 5pm and is open to all unpaid carers across Trafford. It will provide valuable information, guidance, and wellbeing support to help carers understand their rights and access the help available to them.

Attendees can join workshops on legal planning, energy advice, and navigating the care system, as well as a Wellbeing Laughter Yoga session designed to promote relaxation and self-care.

A wide range of partner organisations will be attending, including local health and community teams, disability employment advisers, and charities such as the Alzheimer’s Society and Home Instead.

The day will begin with a quiet session (11.15am–12pm) for carers and individuals who prefer a calmer environment.

In addition, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Trafford Carers Centre will take place earlier in the day, from 10:30am to 11:30am, and is open to all.

Trafford Carers Centre Chief Executive, Michelle Grogan said:

“Unpaid carers play an essential role in supporting loved ones and our community. Carers Rights Day is an opportunity to ensure they get the information, advice, and recognition they deserve.”
