Join the Conversation at Trafford's Safeguarding Prevention Conference

The Safeguarding Adults Week Prevention Conference promises to be a milestone event which will bring together professionals, community partners, and organisations from across Trafford for a day of learning, collaboration, and inspiration.

Organised by the Trafford Safeguarding Adults Board (TSAB) and supported by Trafford Council, the conference will take place on Friday 21 November at Stretford Public Hall.

Running from 9.30am to 3.30pm, the event will feature a mix of keynote speakers and interactive sessions aimed at professionals working in health and care, education, the emergency services, and the community and voluntary sector.

This interactive, marketplace-style event is your chance to:

• Join open discussions with like-minded professionals from health, care, housing, education, and community services.

• Take part in a hands-on safeguarding scenario exercise — a practical, role-play-based session to help you test your skills and confidence.

• Hear from national safeguarding experts Dr Adi Cooper OBE and Sarah Newsam, and Trafford Council’s Director of Adults and Wellbeing, Maggie Kufeldt, on what works in prevention.

• Meet local organisations and discover the services making a difference every day across Trafford.

Sessions will explore local safeguarding reviews, prevention work, and practical actions to strengthen how agencies respond to risk and protect adults from harm.

Liz Murphy, Independent Chair of the Trafford Safeguarding Adults Board, said:

“Safeguarding Adults Week is an opportunity to reflect, share learning and strengthen our partnership approach. This year’s theme of prevention is about recognising risks early and working together to keep people safe. I would urge anyone who works with, or has an interest in, adult safeguarding in Trafford to sign up to attend this important event.”
