One Trafford partners with Children’s Adventure Farm Trust

The charity, based at the south border of Trafford, offers respite for children, young people and families whose lives may be impacted by illness, complex medical needs, special educational needs, disability and social disadvantage.

One Trafford Partnership, a collaboration between Trafford Council and Amey, will spend the next 12 months volunteering, fundraising and offering support to CAFT.

The partnership was chosen by One Trafford colleagues as part of their commitment to build meaningful relationships with local charities. Some of the team have already planned their first fundraiser, walking 10 miles along the canal from Dunham Massey to Cornbrook.

Last year, One Trafford colleagues voted for and partnered with Little Green Sock Project; raising over £18,000 in the year and volunteering more than 170 hours to the charity and events to raise money.  

Councillor George Devlin, Executive Member for Babies, Children and Young People said: 

“It’s lovely to be able to see a brilliant charity being supported by colleagues at One Trafford. Our children and young people need to be able to access a childhood and charities like Children’s Adventure Farm Trust support with removing barriers to achieving this; providing them with the best start in life.”

CAFT Fundraiser, Helen Crowther said: 

“We are so thankful for our partnerships as they provide us with the support we need to run some of essential parts of the farm – from grounds maintenance through to volunteered time and an extra set of hands. We’re looking forward to creating a lasting partnership with One Trafford; not only to support the charity but also to raise awareness around the work that we do to help families, children and young people in the area.”
