Hundreds of secondary school children across Trafford will be given the opportunity to take part in a number of work-related events as part of Green Careers Week.
The week, commencing on Monday 2 November, will bring together schools, employers, colleges and partners to help young people explore careers linked to the borough's growing green economy.
The programme is designed to give young people meaningful encounters with employers and real-world projects, helping them understand the opportunities available on their doorstep.
Activities will showcase careers in sectors including energy, construction, regeneration, nature, climate resilience, sustainability and advanced manufacturing as well as showcase local, place-based projects.
Trafford young people will have the opportunity to meet employers, visit workplaces, take part in hands-on challenges and learn about the pathways available through apprenticeships, technical education, college routes and employment.
Trafford Green Skills working group is a growing partnership of employers, education providers and community organisations supporting delivery of a programme of green skills activities including Trafford Green Careers Week. The group was established in 2023 with a shared vision to promote the uptake of jobs and training opportunities in the green economy.

This year sees the introduction of the Green Careers & AMM Pop-Up Party, a Trafford-wide careers experience bringing together employers and organisations in one interactive event. Through this, students will explore careers through themed zones, hands-on activities, demonstrations, employer conversations and challenges.
