Students praised by Council leader for amazing results

The results saw the rate of A* to B achieved by Trafford students rise to 72% - the best in the North West and seventh best results in England. Trafford’s results were also an improvement on 2025.

Cllr Ross said:

“What an achievement by our students. My heartfelt congratulations goes out to them. I wish them the very best of success in whatever they now go on to do, whether that be university, employment, training or taking a year out to consider options.”

Results saw the rate of A* rise to 16.9%. That’s rise of 1.1 percentage points on the previous year and double the average for the North West.

The rate of A* and A results increased 1.2 percentage points in Trafford to 45.1%. That compares to a national rate of 28.3% and a North West rate of 26.5%.

Meanwhile, the rate of A* to C results in Trafford 88.0%, nearly 10 percentage points better than the national average and 1.2 percentage points better than 2025.

“Students need to be congratulated first and foremost because it they who sit the exams, they who do the coursework and they who put in the hours of effort to achieve the best they can.
 

“But behind them is a network of amazing support. World-class teachers, amazing school staff, dedicated parents and guardians, and our fantastic Education Services here at the Council.

“We have always prided ourselves on having the best schools in the country and these results show that. To everyone involved in education in Trafford, I offer my grateful thanks on behalf of everyone in the borough.”
