Apply for visitor parking permits

If you live at an eligible property in a permit scheme, you will be able to apply online for a virtual visitor permits (vouchers) for guests to park in the relevant zone for the duration of their stay. The type and amount of vouchers you can apply for within a 12 month period will depend on the permit zone. 

Only one visitor permit can be issued, and it will be up to the account holder to manage visitor vouchers, unless the account is shared with the household.

Visitor permits have an expiry date, which you can view in your online account. Any unused vouchers left on your visitor permit account when it expires will be lost. We recommend you top up vouchers only as and when required, as any unused vouchers will be lost once the permit expires. Refunds are not provided for unused visitor vouchers.

Our officers will be able to check if a visitor permit session is active for a vehicle while on patrol.

Application process

You will need to create a PermitSmarti account and follow the application process.

1. You need to apply for a visitor permit. There is no cost at this stage.
2. Once your visitor permit has been issued, you should now have a new icon appear in your online account called 'Visitor Vouchers' which will enable you to purchase parking vouchers.
3. Click on the blue 'P' icon to access your vouchers.
4. To make payment (where applicable) select 'top-ups'
5. Visitor vouchers must be activated from your PermitSmarti account for the date the vehicle is to be parked. This can be on the day or for a date in the future.

Apply for a virtual visitor permit

You can continue to use paper visitor cards for match day and event day zones (zone B and PP zones) until 31 October 2025, and paid for visitor cards for all other zones until 31 October 2026.
