Trafford means different things to different people.
That’s why we’re inviting residents, staff and schools to help represent Trafford with our photography competition. Winning images will rotate on the website homepage.
Who can enter
You can enter if you’re a:
- Trafford resident
- Trafford Council member of staff
- Pupil at a Trafford school
There are two age groups:
- 18 and over
- Under 18
Entries from under 18s must be submitted by a parent, guardian, school or teacher on their behalf.
What you can submit
You can upload up to three photos per person.
Photos must:
- Be taken within Trafford
- Be your own original work
- Be landscape format, 16:9
- Be at least 1920 pixels wide
- Be JPEG or PNG
- Be under 10MB
Photos must not:
- Be AI-generated
- Use filters, text, logos or watermarks
- Be taken where photography is restricted
- Show unlawful activity
If your photo includes people
If your photo includes people, you must have their permission. If it includes anyone under 18, you must have parent or guardian consent.
Photo topics
Photos should reflect life in Trafford and may be selected from topics such as:
- Local landmarks or heritage
- Parks and green spaces
- Community life and events
- Nature and wildlife
- Everyday streets, places and scenes
How we decide the winners
We’ll select winning photos from these topics across both age groups. We’re looking for strong, clear images that feel real and recognisable.
The judging panel
Photos will be reviewed by a judging panel. Entries are judged on creativity, composition and how well they reflect Trafford.
There is no cash prize. Winning entries will be featured on the Trafford Council website.
How your photo will be used
By entering, you:
- Keep the copyright to your photo
- Give Trafford Council permission to use it on our website, social media and marketing
Photos used on the homepage will not include a photographer credit. We may credit photographers in other settings where appropriate.

Competition dates
- Opening date: 2 June 2026
- Closing date: 28 June 2026
Entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
How to enter
To enter the competition, upload up to three photos. You will need to provide your contact details and a short description of where each photo was taken.
