Unitary Development Plan
Part of:
Development Plan for Trafford
The Revised Trafford Unitary Development Plan (UDP) was adopted in June 2006.
Some of its policies are still in force. These are called saved policies. They continue to apply where they have not been replaced by newer plans.
Saved policies will eventually be replaced by the new Trafford Local Plan, which is currently being prepared.
How saved policies are used
Saved UDP policies help:
- Protect specific areas, such as town centres and open land
- Control certain types of development
- Provide detailed guidance until new policies are adopted
These policies form part of Trafford’s statutory Development Plan and must be considered in planning decisions.
