Putting your bins out

Bins should be presented by 6:30am on your collection day, then returned to your property within 48 hours.

How to present your bins

Present your bins with a fully closed lid. There shouldn't be any overflowing waste.

Our crews will not pick up waste left on the side, for example, bin bags placed next to your bin or stacks of cardboard. If you do have extra waste or recycling, take this to your local household waste recycling centre.

Please present your bin at the edge of your property, or at your designated collection point, where it won't obstruct the public footpath or highway.

Get help putting your bins out

We offer an assisted collection service to any resident who, through age or physical limitation, finds it hard to place their bins out for collection.

Prevent your bin from going missing

Collection crews will return your bin to where it was collected.

Other ways to prevent your bin from being stolen:

  • Use a permanent marker or number stickers to identify the bin as belonging to your property
  • Place your bins out in the morning instead of the night before
  • Bring your bin back in immediately after collection - your neighbours may be able to help with this
