Overview
We are responsible for the installation and maintenance of street lights, road signs and street furniture on the adopted highway in Trafford.
All road signs on the highway must be authorised by us and the Highway Code gives examples of the most common signs in normal use, which must comply with current guidance. As well as unlit signs, Trafford currently has over 3000 illuminated signs.
Street furniture includes, but is not limited to:
- Street name signs
- Illuminated and non-illuminated bollards
- Highway fencing and barriers
- Pedestrian guardrail
- Benches
- Zebra crossings
