Overview

We need to ensure that all properties are addressed in line with national best practice. This is so properties can receive services, post and deliveries.

Who uses your address

A property address is used across multiple areas within the Council. For example you need your address to:

  • order bins,
  • register on the electoral roll,
  • pay Council Tax, 
  • apply for parking permits,
  • apply for school places.

Emergency Services rely on having accurate address records when responding to calls. This helps them locate properties efficiently.

The addresses are also used other organisations such as:

  • Utility providers, 
  • Ordnance Survey, 
  • the Valuation Office, 
  • Land Registry, 
  • Mapping providers.
