Fire and gas safety
Part of:
Safety in the home
In the case of a fire emergency, phone 999.
Ways to stay fire and gas safe in your home:
- Ask for a Home Fire Safety Assessment from Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service. They’ll check for risks, fit smoke alarms, and give advice.
- If you smell gas, want to report a gas leak, or require gas emergency services, call the 24/7 national emergency service on 0800 111 999.
- Install carbon monoxide detectors in rooms with fixed combustion appliances (such as a gas fire, gas boiler, log burner or open fireplace).
