New and variation applications

Part of: Premises licence (new or variation)
  • Apply for a new licence if your premises does not already have one.
  • Apply for a full variation if you want to make significant changes, such as changing licensable activities or increasing operating hours.
  • Apply for a minor variation if the changes are small and unlikely to affect the licensing objectives.

A premises licence remains in place unless:

  • surrendered
  • suspended
  • revoked
  • dissolved by the licence holder
  • the death of a licence holder
  • the individual licence holder’s right to work status expires

If you leave the premises without surrendering the premises licence, the licence will remain, and you will remain liable for annual fees.
