What happens after you apply

Part of: Temporary event notice (TEN)
  • The police or Environmental Health can object if they believe your event undermines crime prevention or public nuisance objectives.
  • They must object by the next working day after receiving your notice.
  • If an objection is made:
    • we will hold a hearing and may allow or refuse the event, or
    • you may agree changes with the police, which will withdraw the objection.
  • We can issue a counter notice if:
    • it is necessary for crime prevention, or
    • you exceed the number of TENs allowed.

We must make a decision at least 24 hours before your event.

If your TEN is refused

  • Contact us first.
  • You may appeal to Trafford Magistrates’ Court within 21 days, and at least 5 working days before the event date.
