Transfer taxi vehicle ownership

You can apply to transfer the ownership of a hackney carriage or private hire vehicle licence.

Step by step navigation

  1. Prepare your documents

    Gather your log book, bill of sale, insurance, and DBS check if required.

  2. Pay the fee

    Pay £27 and keep your receipt reference to use in the application form.

  3. Submit your application

    Complete the online vehicle owner transfer form and include your payment reference.

  4. Decision and grant

    We will review your application and tell you when to collect your paper licence.
