Local government and transparency code

We publish open data so residents and partners can see how the council works and reuse our data for research, apps and insight. All data is free to use under the Open Government Licence.

The Transparency Code 2015 sets out what local authorities must publish. We also make extra datasets available where they help explain council services. This includes information from the Census, which provides the most detailed picture of Trafford’s population and communities.

All datasets are published in open, machine-readable formats so they can be easily accessed, analysed and reused.
